John contacted me to say that he has been offered an Ambassadorial Scholarship following his interview with the District Committee. In John's words:

"I am pleased and honored to announce I have been chosen and have accepted the 2008-2009 Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. I want to thank the Joplin Daybreak Club, Rotary International, and also Bill Trudeau for this once in a lifetime opportunity. I do not know which of the five countries I will be traveling to; however, the countries I preferred were the Philippines, Singapore, India, Indonesia, and Kenya!" John Carr.

Our congratulations to John. We are proud to be his sponsors.

John will attend our meetings on into the fall as he prepares for his assignment overseas. He is in the Honors Program at Missouri Southern State University.
